Rock Language Fonts Reimagines Ancient Petroglyphs as a Modern, Universal Typeface

Hangzhou-based designer Mengsheng Wang has unveiled Rock Language Fonts, an integrated typeface inspired by Helan Mountain petroglyphs, blending ancient Chinese rock art with contemporary typography to celebrate cultural diversity and shared human heritage. The project, completed in January 2024 and awarded Bronze at the 2025 A' Design Awards, will be showcased at the Helan Mountain Rock Painting International Art Festival.
