Henry Moore Exhibition Visual Identity Blends Art, Design, and Education for Broad Audience Engagement

Feng Yuxin, a lecturer and accomplished designer from Nanjing, has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category for the Henry Moore Exhibition visual identity project. Held in Nanjing from July to August 2021, the exhibition's branding drew inspiration from Moore's iconic "Reclining Figure," cleverly integrating the artist's signature style and the letter "M" into a memorable logo. The project's visual system extended beyond traditional posters and tickets, encompassing a range of creative products designed to foster interaction and learning among visitors, especially children.

What sets this project apart is its focus on transforming Henry Moore's sculptural forms into interactive educational tools. The exhibition introduced unique items such as drawing books and pencils inspired by Moore's works, encouraging young audiences to engage with art in a hands-on manner. This approach not only celebrates Moore's legacy but also bridges the gap between fine art and education, making the exhibition both culturally enriching and accessible to a diverse audience. All products were crafted with safe, healthy materials, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for families and schools.

The design process involved extensive research and careful consideration of how to convey Moore's artistic essence across all exhibition materials. Minimalist lines and streamlined forms were employed to enhance recognition and visual appeal, while the collection of creative products enabled broader participation and deeper engagement. Overcoming the challenge of faithfully representing Moore's style, Feng Yuxin's work stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in promoting art appreciation and creativity among new generations.
