FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Zhiwen Tang's "Lunar Dinosaur Fantasy World" has been honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design for 2024, recognizing its inventive approach to children's education and visual storytelling. Conceived in response to a child's question about life on the moon, the project transforms scientific curiosity into a whimsical illustrated series where dinosaurs inhabit lunar landscapes, inviting children to imagine, question, and dream beyond conventional knowledge.
Developed between December 2021 and May 2022 in New York City, the project leverages digital painting techniques and detailed research in paleontology and astronomy to create vibrant, multi-dimensional illustrations. These works were showcased at the Yi Jie Illustration Exhibition in Beijing and have garnered accolades from Communication Arts and the China Illustration Biennale, underscoring their global impact. Tang's creative process involved interactive workshops and interviews with children and educators, ensuring the illustrations both educate and inspire, while reinforcing the value of maintaining an open mind in scientific exploration.
