FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chavannes Tea, in partnership with the Dunhuang Museum, has unveiled a striking new tea package designed by Yifu Pan, which has recently received the Bronze A' Packaging Design Award for 2025. The packaging draws its inspiration from the ancient Silk Road, specifically the Dunhuang murals and the ethereal Flying Apsaras, blending these historical motifs with the essence of Wuyi Rock Tea. The result is a visually captivating product that not only honors the rich cultural legacy of Dunhuang but also elevates the experience of enjoying fine Chinese tea.
This limited-edition packaging is part of the brand's Silk Road mask series, with the "Sha Huang" edition serving as a visual tribute to Gansu's Dunhuang region. The design features double-drawer boxes and intricately illustrated envelopes, utilizing imperial purple as the brand color and incorporating the brand symbol to reinforce Chavannes Tea's identity. The packaging is crafted using gray plate material and special paper, enhanced with hot stamping, UV, and relief printing techniques, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and tactile sophistication. Each box contains individually wrapped tea bags, making it both a practical and collectible gift.
The creation of the Chavannes Tea package was driven by extensive research into the art and culture of the Silk Road, aiming to authentically merge the beauty of Dunhuang's murals with the tradition of Chinese tea. The design team faced the challenge of maintaining consistency across all seven products in the Silk Road series, while ensuring each edition, like the Dunhuang Flying Apsaras, stands out with its unique visual narrative. The result is a harmonious blend of history, artistry, and functionality, recognized by the A' Design Award jury for its ingenuity and contribution to cultural preservation through design.
