I-D Tech of Nile University Unveils Multifunctional Sale System for Small-Scale Farmers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
I-D Tech of Nile University has unveiled "Milcotech," a revolutionary multifunctional sale system designed to address the challenges of milk collection in Egypt. The system, developed in collaboration with a dedicated team, offers end-to-end traceability, financial inclusion, and data-driven solutions for small-scale dairy farmers.
The Milcotech system integrates milk quality analysis, value chain traceability, and data collection for farmer relationship management, targeted extension services, and derisking financing. It serves as a hub for financial inclusion and milk traceability, designed with a modular approach to align with existing workflows and stakeholder needs.
The innovative point of sale system is equipped with RFID technology, milk analyzers, printers, and a user-friendly interface developed using Adobe XD. The product features a combination of plain carbon steel and aluminum components, meticulously crafted using advanced manufacturing technologies.
The project, which commenced in April 2021, involved extensive research and development, culminating in the manufacturing of the concept in May 2022. Currently undergoing piloting in the Tanta region, the Milcotech system represents a significant leap forward in the modernization of milk collection practices in Egypt.
I-D Tech of Nile University, through its Innovation & Design Technologies initiative, is committed to leveraging design and innovation to drive economic development. The entity offers a range of services, including innovation management consultancy, product design, re-engineering, and prototyping, aimed at fostering growth and strengthening various sectors.
