Armeanu Creative Studio has unveiled a new packaging design for Valeputna's smoked trout, drawing inspiration from the brand's rich history and royal connections. The packaging reflects the brand's tribute to the first trout farm and the artisans who invented the recipes for smoked trout. It combines symbolism of tradition, royalty, and nature, aiming to communicate the rich legacy of the brand alongside a desire for innovation and perfection.
The packaging, made of kraft carton with golden folio and selective varnishing, features a compact shape for easy storage and transportation. It offers easy manipulation for the product, allowing for simple insertion and closing, while occupying an optimum space on the shelf in terms of storage and visibility.
The project was part of a rebranding initiative that included the packaging design of 17 products, developed over a span of 3 months. The design process began with a discovery workshop, evaluating the brand's attributes, values, target group, and competition. The team then developed a rebranding strategy, establishing the final brand positioning and values, and identifying ways to satisfy the needs of the target group.
Armeanu Creative Studio's design for Valeputna's smoked trout packaging was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021. The award recognizes the exceptional creativity and technical excellence demonstrated in the design, showcasing a remarkable level of expertise and innovation.
