Intelligent Innovation: Modular Integrated Intelligent Door

Shandong Industrial Design Institute introduces the Intelligent Innovation, a groundbreaking modular integrated intelligent door that aims to transform the traditional home entry experience. Inspired by the growing popularity of home connect, the design team identified the limitations of existing entry doors in meeting the evolving needs of modern households, particularly in China. Many families incorporate various intelligent products such as shoe cabinets with disinfection and deodorization functions, security cameras, and other smart devices outside their doors. However, the absence of a reserved power interface around the door makes managing these devices cumbersome. In response, the Intelligent Innovation integrates and updates these products, redefining the concept of the entry door.

The Intelligent Innovation boasts a range of unique features, including the ability to make outdoor spaces more transparent and seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor areas. In addition to standard functions like fingerprint recognition and an electronic door viewer, the intelligent door adopts a modular integration design concept. The door frame and body reserve extended modules and structure interfaces, allowing for the installation of different functional modules based on individual needs.

Utilizing an integrated research and development approach, the intelligent door features modular extended functions through quick plug-in interfaces and information transmission technologies. Its management relies on the Internet of Things, with a home network serving as the foundation. The design leverages a home gateway as the core, supported by a unified management platform and business platform.

The intelligent door's installation size of 2050mm x 960mm aligns with general size standards, ensuring convenient replacement and installation. Its user-friendly operation further enhances its appeal, offering a seamless experience for users.

Chief Designer Xin Tong, Design Director Zhenmin Hao, and team members Binghua Zheng, Huijie Li, and Xiaohan Xie collaborated on the Intelligent Innovation project, which commenced in April 2021 and was developed and designed at the Prototype Innovation Factory of Yantai International Design Town, China.

With the Intelligent Innovation, Shandong Industrial Design Institute aims to meet the new demands of users in the era of the Internet of Everything. By integrating the functions of peripheral products and implementing unified personalized management, the intelligent door is positioned to become an integral part of people's home life, offering a safer and more convenient smart connected living experience.

Recognized for its outstanding innovation and technical excellence, the Intelligent Innovation was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Building Materials and Construction Components Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the design's remarkable level of excellence and its ability to evoke positive emotions, amazement, and wonder.
