Different Maps: 3D Wall Art

Przemysław Koczkodaj, in collaboration with Anna Koczkodaj, presents "Different Maps," a unique 3D wall art project that offers a fresh perspective on map design. The project was born out of the couple's desire to create personalized, high-quality maps of their small hometowns in Poland, which are often overlooked in traditional map designs.

The 3D maps, crafted from a combination of wood and epoxy resin, showcase any location on Earth with intricate detail and depth. Each map is a unique piece of art, with the wood and resin creating distinct shades and patterns, making it a truly personalized representation of a place.

The production process involves laser-cutting individual street layers from plywood, followed by meticulous manual grinding for a flawless finish. The epoxy resin is then poured to enhance the 3D effect, resulting in a visually striking representation of the chosen location.

Measuring 530mm x 530mm x 35mm, these 3D maps are designed to evoke memories and emotions associated with a particular place. Whether displayed in homes, offices, hotels, or other settings, the maps serve as a unique reminder of cherished locations and moments.

Przemysław Koczkodaj, a professional data engineer with a passion for woodworking, combined his technological expertise with his love for maps to create this exceptional design. The project seamlessly integrates modern technology with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in a visually captivating and high-quality art piece.
