Germgo: Redefining Public Disinfection

Aodong Li's "Germgo" is an intelligent disinfection robot designed to address the need for efficient and non-intrusive disinfection in public spaces. The robot features two screens for route setting and status checking, three disinfection nozzles, and a large-capacity water tank. Additionally, it incorporates a projection device to inform pedestrians of its driving direction, ensuring safe interaction.

The robot's design was inspired by the increased focus on daily disinfection due to the new crown epidemic. Aodong Li aimed to create a more humane approach to disinfection, considering the conflicts that traditional disinfection machines pose to pedestrians in public spaces.

Constructed using PC, ABS injection molding, and PA material for the disinfection module, Germgo ensures durability and ease of maintenance. It operates through independent route planning and selection via the top screen, combined with an induction device for unmanned disinfection. The front screen provides intuitive operation information, while the bottom projection device prevents collisions by projecting the robot's driving direction.

The project involved extensive market research to understand consumer and medical staff needs, leading to a human-centered design. Despite challenges in balancing disinfection efficiency and human-machine interaction, Germgo emerged as a practical and innovative solution.

Aodong Li, a student of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, has demonstrated exceptional design capabilities, participating in numerous projects and winning 31 design awards within a short period.
