The artwork, commissioned by S-Oil Total, a South Korean oil refinery, showcases various environments and elements related to oil refining, depicted through a blend of traditional Korean brush techniques and digital graphics. The calendar measures 400mm x 610mm and was released in Seoul, South Korea, in January 2017.
Park's unique approach involved using traditional South Korean painting brushes to create texture, which was then scanned and digitized using Adobe Photoshop. The resulting artwork, realized in RGB and CMYK color modes, offers a fresh perspective on the role of refined oil in transportation and energy.
Recognized for his innovative approach, Seung woo, Park's S-Oil Total calendar illustration won the Iron A' Design Award in 2021.
