Chang'an Still Illustration Series

Step into the mesmerizing world of ancient China's Xi'an with the Chang'an Still Illustration Series by Wu Yao. This series beautifully reimagines the vibrant city of Xi'an, drawing inspiration from its rich history and modern charm. From the majestic Big Wild Goose Pagoda to the captivating Daming Palace, each illustration encapsulates the infinite allure of Xi'an.

Using the Painting of Rivers and Mountains over a Thousand Miles by Wang Ximeng as inspiration, Wu Yao skillfully weaves together ancient and modern elements, creating a seamless narrative that brings the stories of Xi'an to life. The series comprises 24 small pictures, each representing a unique aspect of Xi'an's cultural tapestry.

Collaborating with a talented team of designers, including yuchen Zang, boxing Xie, huafeng Shi, and zhen Tan, Wu Yao embarked on this project in Beijing in September 2021, culminating in its completion in February 2022. The meticulous research and creative vision behind the series reflect the changing seasons and the enduring historical relics of Xi'an, offering a captivating portrayal of the city's timeless beauty.
