Victoria Ax's Tongue-Bongue, a tongue-shaped candy package, wins Bronze A' Design Award for Packaging Design in 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Victoria Ax's Tongue-Bongue, a tongue-shaped candy package, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award for Packaging Design in 2020. The inspiration for this unique design came from the idea of creating a package for food that focused on the eating process itself. The package is designed to resemble a tongue, creating a surreal metaphor of "tongue on (human) tongue" with tongue-shaped lollipops inside.
The Tongue-Bongue candy package measures 50 x 50 x 70 mm when assembled, with a printing size of 240 x 250 mm. The tongue starts from the back of the box, covering the opening area and working as additional protection against opening, and "closes" through a slot in the mouth, revealing candy-tongues inside.
The project was initially created for a German package competition and was developed in Moscow from February to April 2017. The design aimed to offer a new version of packaging that would stand out on the shelves and entice consumers to make a spontaneous purchase.
Victoria Ax, a designer from Markdorf, Germany, graduated as a designer in Moscow, Russia, and found a passion for creating nonstandard packages that can increase demand for goods. The Tongue-Bongue design reflects her belief that unpredictability is crucial in packaging development, moving away from stereotypical solutions in the market.
The Tongue-Bongue candy package has been recognized for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. This innovative design contributes to quality of life improvements, making the world a better place.
