Renowned art director and graphic designer Mengchao Wu introduces the vibrant visual identity for Meet, a Korean barbecue restaurant, with a unique concept inspired by the shapes of meats on the grill.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Award-winning art director and graphic designer Mengchao Wu has unveiled the striking visual identity for Meet, a Korean barbecue restaurant targeting young people. The concept is inspired by the natural geometries of meats on the grill, translating into a vibrant and playful brand image that promotes the variety of meats and seafood offered.
The design team, including Mengchao Wu, Hao Li, and Sijia Zhang, utilized the most basic graphical element - the grid - to represent grills, creating a visually unexpected yet fitting concept. The project, executed in NYC and Shanghai over three months, aimed to capture the ethos of the brand and convey a consistent yet flexible visual language.
Utilizing Adobe Suite, video production, printing, and package design, the team brought the concept to life across various applications, including business cards, punch cards, menus, and stickers, each with specific technical specifications.
The project's success was recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021, highlighting the outstanding expertise and innovation demonstrated in the Meet rebrand.
