Therese Virserius transforms W Atlanta Midtown into a fictional character's estate, creating a unique and immersive guest experience, completed in January 2019 with additional updates in Fall 2019.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
W Atlanta Midtown has undergone a stunning transformation by renowned designer Therese Virserius, creating a captivating and immersive experience for guests. The concept behind the redesign was to recreate the estate and secret garden of a fictional character named Arthur, with the hotel's lobby and bar spanning approximately 929.0304 square meters. The design pays homage to the city of Atlanta as the epicenter of music, entertainment, and sport, offering a robust narrative about the fictional character Arthur.
The bespoke furniture, flooring, and art collection lining the walls were meticulously designed by Virserius Studio to represent Arthur's living room and botanical garden. The den, inspired by the Middle Eastern folktale, One Thousand and One Nights, features art designed by Virserius Studio and a ceiling painted by a local artist. The living room boasts intimate seating arrangements with traditional and bohemian touches, creating a space for special moments among friends during their visit.
The lobby features tiered terraces with amphitheater seating, providing a versatile space for work, socializing, and private gatherings. Virserius Studio's research into the history of Atlanta and the state of Georgia, as well as the unique nature and entertainment scene, informed the creation of the fictional character Arthur and his narrative, adding depth and authenticity to the design.
