Chen Nan Explores the Artistic Aesthetics and Information Communication Function of Chinese Characters in New Book

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

History of Chinese Character Design

Delve into the profound influence of Chinese characters on cultural development with the groundbreaking book by Chen Nan. Unravel the thinking and methods behind the artistic aesthetics and information communication function of Chinese characters, spanning thousands of years and various ethnic regions.

This pioneering book systematically explains the history of Chinese character design from a design studies perspective. It features seven fonts with evolutionary relationships, accompanied by black and white graphic illustrations symbolizing the text and design examples in each chapter. The layout is designed for easy reading, incorporating numerous information visualization diagrams.

The book's cover and margin are designed with a black texture background, while the cover box is made of white special paper, creating a striking contrast. Measuring 200mm x 50mm x 280mm, the book design is divided into two parts: a white and gold hard box and a whole black hardcover book, both in a drawer structure.

Published in July 2021, this book is the result of 8 years of meticulous compilation, extensive research, and the author's unique historical perspective on the evolution of Chinese characters. Chen Nan's work expands the research scope to all character forms closely related to the entire Chinese character culture circle, presenting a comprehensive view of the connection between linguistics and grammatology.
