Aleksandra Toborowicz Unveils a Manual for Learning Highlander Music

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aleksandra Toborowicz's Three-Volume Publication Showcasing Highlander Music

Aleksandra Toborowicz, a renowned graphic designer, has unveiled a groundbreaking three-volume publication titled "Music of the Skalne Podhale Region," offering a comprehensive manual for learning highlander music. The project, realized between 2019 and 2021 in Kraków, Poland, aims to translate the essence of highlander traditions into modern design concepts, capturing the spirit of Polish mountains and the energy of highlander music.

The textbook, curated by Krzysztof Trebunia-Tutka, is the first comprehensive publication in Poland devoted to highlander music. The volumes include "A handful of theories," "Finger notation," and "Music notation," accompanied by recordings to familiarize learners with the secrets of highlander music. The covers feature graphics that allude to mountain horizon views and sound recordings, creating an optical illusion of reflection and a vivid, expressive representation of highlander music's emotionality and energy.

Printed using silk-screen technology, the publication's technical specifications include a format of 23.5 cm x 30.5 cm, sewn-glued binding, and a circulation of 1000. The elastic belly band around the release evokes associations with a vertical line in an audio processing program, while the use of raw linen and red threads pays homage to traditional highlander costumes. The publication is designed to open flat, ensuring ease of use for musicians.
