Adoring: Dog Social Network App

Adoring, a mobile app designed by Yifei Li and her team at Zhejiang University, aims to revolutionize the way dog owners connect and socialize their pets. Unlike existing pet apps, Adoring focuses on pet socialization practices and mating, providing a warm pet community for pet dogs and owners. The app's key function is to match suitable dog mates based on location, breed, personality, and habits. Additionally, dog owners can use it to record their dog's growth, find friends for their dog, chat with other dog owners, and share dog ownership experiences.

The app was designed for the iOS system and utilizes a mature "tag-based recommendation algorithm" to find the most suitable breeding object and social partner for pet dogs. The design process involved extensive research, including situational interviews, market research, and competitive analysis, to create a differentiated product that addresses the real needs of dog owners.

Adoring's innovative features include various tags for pet dogs, a chat function from the pet's perspective, and a community with extensive pet knowledge. The project was completed in June 2020 at Zhejiang University after overcoming challenges related to the feasibility of the app and defining dog feature tags to enhance the user experience.

Yifei Li, a graduate student majoring in industrial design at Zhejiang University, led the design team and has a background in software engineering. The app received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements for pet owners worldwide.
