Coreintive introduces Seotun Saram, a revolutionary mobile UX UI design aimed at redefining the landscape of psychological counseling. The project, which commenced in April 2017 and concluded in August 2018 in Gwangju, Republic of Korea, addresses the critical need for secure and professional counseling services in an environment where unregulated counseling centers have led to negative perceptions of counseling. The design team, led by Creative Directors Donggyun Kang and Yangji Kim, along with a talented group of designers and developers, sought to create a service that connects counselees with reliable professional counselors, providing hope and warmth through a unique fairy tale approach.
Seotun Saram, which translates to "someone who is not skilled and used to," embodies the message that everyone starts clumsily. The design team crafted a fairy tale that metaphorically expresses the counseling process, aiming to provide comfort to those unfamiliar with counseling. This fairy tale will be shared with individuals using the service, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The design features warm paper textures, a lyrical navy blue reminiscent of the night sky, and hand-drawn icons, all contributing to a comforting and secure environment. The service introduces two characters, 'Seotun' and 'Gobukki,' representing the counsellee and the reliable counselor, respectively. The goal is to convey warmth and provide the right direction for counseling, ensuring that clients receive skilled counseling in a safer setting.
Coreintive's Seotun Saram has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Mobile Technologies, Applications, and Software Design category in 2020. This accolade acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and ability to meet professional and industrial requirements, setting a new standard in the field of psychological counseling.
