Lucky Tiger Welcomes New Year by Hsiao Yun Tseng is an Illustration Project Celebrating the Chinese New Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hsiao Yun Tseng's "Lucky Tiger Welcomes New Year" is an illustration project inspired by traditional Chinese festivals, celebrating the beginning of the year with the zodiac represented by the year as the auspicious beast, symbolizing good luck and wealth. The design combines traditional Chinese paper-cutting elements with novel colors, focusing on the image of spring and integrating a large number of flowers and plants to imply the concept of "Harvest". The project was realized using Illustrator software rendering, combined with Photoshop image material synthesis, and digital printing was adopted to faithfully present the performance of the illustration itself.
The design specifications include a postcard, Spring Festival couplet, and red packet, each with specific dimensions. The project was drawn in January 2022, completed in February 2022, and the postcards were sent to congratulate the New Year. The design interacts by being printed with auspicious symbols, allowing recipients to feel the blessings and receive good luck.
Hsiao Yun Tseng, the designer of "Lucky Tiger Welcomes New Year," was born in 1981 and is currently living in New Taipei, Taiwan. Engaged in illustration and design-related work, Tseng has won several awards, including the Hiii Illustration 2014 "Excellence Award," 2015 Greater China Illustration Awards "Excellence Award," and the iJUNGLE ILLUSTRATION AWARDS 2022 "Self-improvement Merit Award." The project was awarded Iron in A' Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design Award in 2023.
