Garalis Muscat Limnio Wine Packaging Design

Manos Siganos, a renowned graphic designer from Tripolis, Greece, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022 for the exceptional packaging design of Garalis Muscat Limnio wine. The packaging design draws inspiration from the distinctive features of Lemnos island, emphasizing the island's heritage and the exceptional quality of the two wines produced by Garalis winery.

The packaging design of Muscat white wine is inspired by the low vines of Lemnos island, lashed by northeasterly gales, with the color gold chosen to emphasize the value of the grapes and the wind. On the other hand, the design concept of Limnio red wine is based on the shape of the traditional Gouves of Lemnos, underground carved out rocks used for the fermentation of must, sealed with round slates, also highlighted with the color gold.

Both wines share a common design style, with a minimal illustration and modern character, using eco paper labels with a special texture, gold foil, and gloss embossing for the letters. The packaging aims to communicate the exceptional quality and history of the two wines, portraying them as excellent products of the same family.

The project, which commenced in May 2020 and concluded in December 2020, involved extensive research to identify the specific characteristics of the winery and its wines, including the climatic conditions of Lemnos island and the traditional winemaking methods. The design overcame creative and technical challenges to visualize the winery's identity, the benefits of the products, and the traditions of Lemnos island.

Manos Siganos, known for his expertise in corporate identities, logos, packages, illustration, and printed matter, collaborated with distinguished professionals to bring this exceptional packaging design to life. His work has been featured in numerous publications and collections, showcasing his remarkable level of excellence and innovation.
