Live and Let Live Exhibition

The Live and Let Live Exhibition, held at Taikoo Hui Guangzhou from June 26th to August 2nd, 2020, offers a unique and immersive experience for visitors to engage with the natural habitats of endangered animals. The exhibition features the environmentalist artist Laurence Vallières, known for creating large-scale animal sculptures with recycled cardboard, to recreate lively scenes of endangered animals such as polar bears, snub-nosed monkeys, red pandas, koalas, and shoebills. Through these lifelike sculptures, the exhibition aims to raise awareness about the plight of these animals and promote environmental conservation.

Every aspect of the exhibition is designed to promote environmentally friendly ideas, from the concept and chosen artist to the interactive installations and materials used. The exhibition space covers 127 square meters at the Guangzhou Taikoo Hui site, providing a captivating environment for visitors to engage with the artwork and the message it conveys.

The Live and Let Live Exhibition also includes interactive installations, such as a huge see-saw representing the balance of nature, where visitors can participate in the experience by tilting the see-saw, and interactive technologies that provide insights into each endangered animal. These elements create an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages.

Commissioned by Inception and supported by Taikoo Hui (Guangzhou) Development Company Limited under the Swire Group, the exhibition aims to address the ongoing crisis of endangered animals and raise awareness of this pressing issue. Through immersive and interactive experiences, the exhibition not only informs but also involves the audience in the critical topic of environmental conservation.

The Live and Let Live Exhibition successfully strikes a balance between entertainment and education, effectively conveying important information about endangered animals while engaging and inspiring its audience. The exhibition has received positive feedback, including participation from school trips and environmental protection proposals submitted by elementary school children after experiencing the installation.
