Humberto Garcia's Cascahuin Tequila bottle design, inspired by pre-Hispanic crafts and the stars, wins the Silver A' Design Award for Packaging Design in 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Humberto Garcia's Cascahuin Tequila bottle design draws inspiration from pre-Hispanic crafts and the use of stars for decision-making. The customized package features modifications to the bottle's mouth, ring, and neck to accommodate a cork stopper and an icon in high relief, giving it a unique and characteristic seal. The glass container is produced through blow molding, while the cork stopper is developed using selected natural cork grains and food-grade vegetable pigments.
The dimensions of the packaging are 70 mm x 70 mm x 260 mm. The project, which started in April 2020 and finished in September 2020 in Mexico, was a result of extensive research on the graphic identity of Tequila CascahuÃn, focusing on the elements of earth, stars, and time that influence the agricultural processes of the blue agave.
Despite challenges in manufacturing blown glass with intricate details and carving the cork in stone, the design stood out for its exceptional craftsmanship and unique concept, earning it the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021.
