HAN LIU introduces the revolutionary engine design "Trex," a poster showcasing the radical engine configuration and advanced air bearing system, improving combustion efficiency and reducing energy loss.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HAN LIU, a PhD candidate at the University of Birmingham, has unveiled the revolutionary engine design "Trex," a poster that signifies a breakthrough in traditional engine design. The design, which started in October 2018 and finished in July 2019 in the United Kingdom, showcases a radical engine configuration and an advanced air bearing system that significantly improves combustion efficiency and reduces internal energy loss. The project was awarded Silver in A' Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design Award in 2020.
The "Trex" design, created for an international academic conference, demonstrates the combination of science and art, utilizing B-Spline curves and surfaces to enhance airflow efficiency. The advanced air bearing system improves compressor power by 30% and ensures low emission running, contributing to a more environmentally friendly engine product. The design echoes the role of mathematics as an interface between science and art, providing a powerful tool for creating and analyzing arts.
HAN LIU's "Trex" design is a testament to the innovative approach to engine design, offering a unique combination of art and engineering. The project has garnered recognition, including the Winner of âGerman Design Award 2019â, Winner of âThe Red Dot Award 2018â, Winner of âA Design Award 2018â, Gold Winner of âMUSE Creative Awards 2018â, Winner of âThe Red Dot Award 2017â, and Gold Winner of âMUSE Creative Awards 2017â. The copyrights for the design belong to SoFeng Design Studio, 2019.
