ChungSheng Chen's "Habitat" is an educational toy brick designed to inspire children's awareness of ecological protection and climate action, made from sustainable Spanish cork bark material.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ChungSheng Chen introduces "Habitat," an educational toy brick designed to convey the concept of climate change's impact on ecosystems and to inspire children's awareness of ecological protection. The project began in August 2022 and was completed in Tainan, Taiwan in March 2023.
The toy bricks are made of sustainable Spanish cork bark material, ensuring no trees were chopped down for production. This antistatic material prevents dust adherence, benefiting children with asthma and allergies. The open-ended, stackable toy bricks are designed to represent natural habitat scenarios, fostering children's environmental concerns from an early age.
Children interact with the toy by assembling and constructing environmental components, facilitating a deeper understanding of ecological restoration. The design won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to inspiring climate action in children.
