FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Reset Co. is proud to present "Texts From Graphics," a collection of essays written by academic authors of the graphic design program at UDEM. The book originates from the need of the University of Monterrey to represent the graphic design program and aims to show the ideas of the professors of the university and the growth that the career has had through their professional perspective. The concept summarizes the creative processes used to solve communication problems by developing an iconographic system that simplifies complex ideas, changing the set between each chapter.
Texts From Graphics is a unique collection that highlights the main ideas through hierarchies, typographical selections, and compositions, creating a dynamic and light reading experience. The typographic system created for the publication allows a better understanding of the essays, serving as an introduction in the section covers to prepare the reader for the complex concepts expressed in the text, and along the pages as visual relief and support.
The design was made in black and white, digitally printed on 90 grams bond paper for a low production cost. It features a section sewn binding method in hard paste to ensure the durability of the book, with UV varnish applied on the cover. The dimensions of the book are 143mm x 12mm x 221mm, and it was realized in 2017 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
The Reset Co. is honored to have received the Iron A' Design Award in 2020 for "Texts From Graphics," recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative contributions to the field of print and published media design. The book serves as a testament to the dedication and creativity of the design team, including Creative and Art director Erika Múzquiz, Designer Ana LucÃa González, and Editor Marina Garza.
