Giuditta Gentile unveils the brand identity redesign for Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia, marking a new chapter in the archive's history, in Florence, Italy, since October 2020.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Giuditta Gentile has revealed the brand identity redesign for Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia, a new public institution founded in Florence by the Tuscany Region to preserve, manage, and promote the Alinari photographic collections. The redesign reflects the historical significance of the archive, emphasizing sculptural lettering, black and white imagery, and a focus on the letter "A" as an abstraction of a camera lens.
The project, which commenced in October 2020, encompasses various print materials such as business cards, folders, envelopes, and posters, as well as digital elements including a website redesign and brand presentation video. The visual identity system is centered around the letter "A" as a container for showcasing the historical archive's photos, with a predominantly black and white color scheme and a secondary palette inspired by daguerreotype photos.
Giuditta Gentile's design approach, characterized by passion, interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainability, has garnered recognition, including the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021. This accolade celebrates the exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and innovation demonstrated in the brand identity redesign for Fondazione Alinari.
