Greg Barth's "Epic Fail" is a thought-provoking photographic series that challenges perceptions and reality in the age of social media and catered news feeds.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greg Barth's "Epic Fail" is a captivating photographic series born out of the shocking election results of Brexit and Trump in 2016. The series explores the dissonance between perception and reality, inspired by the existential currents of Jean Paul Sartre's "Nausea." Using physical effects and minimal retouching, Barth created surreal moments that question the impact of opinions and judgments on our materiality.
The series, realized using wood, printed lycra, 3D printed plaster, high-density foam, and plexiglass, challenges the boundaries of photography and technology. With dimensions of 5457 x 3637 pixels for all pictures, the series was brought to life with the assistance of a dedicated team, including an assistant photographer and models.
Greg Barth's "Epic Fail" was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. The thought-provoking series invites viewers to contemplate the impact of social and political events on our perceptions and materiality, making it a truly remarkable and award-winning project.
