Renowned designer Mizuho Suzuki's continuous line icons with Japanese style lucky motifs win the prestigious A' Design Award in 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mizuho Suzuki's "Decorative Japanese Cord Icons" is a celebration of Japanese tradition and culture. Inspired by the traditional Japanese ornament made of decorative Japanese cord, these icons feature continuous designs, like a single stroke, and are designed with complex shapes transformed into flat and simple forms. The icons aim to expand the possibilities of simple Japanese culture, conveying the feeling of celebration even without the real thing.
The project, which began in 2014, has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. The award acknowledges well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
Mizuho Suzuki, a designer from Kyoto, Japan, has successfully captured the essence of Japanese tradition and ornamentation in these icons, which are now celebrated for their creativity and cultural significance.
