Yiyao Nie debuts "River To Ocean" collection at London Fashion Week 2020, combining 3D printed sculptures with fashion design.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yiyao Nie and fashion designer Qiongxin Kou unveiled the "River To Ocean" collection at London Fashion Week 2020, showcasing a unique fusion of 3D printed sculptures and fashion design. The wearable sculptures, including hats, vests, and shoe decorations, mimic the fluidity of water frozen in time, symbolizing the journey to self-discovery.
The wearable sculptures, designed to be worn or displayed in galleries, are lightweight yet voluminous, allowing for flexible movement while demanding attention due to their striking volume. The collection's centerpiece, the hat and vest, is created using 3D software, printed in small parts using resin material, and meticulously hand-painted and assembled.
Nie's "River To Ocean" collection received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021, recognizing its outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and innovative design.
