Star introduces the MG iSmart Infotainment System HMI, a user-focused design that strengthens emotional connections with the MG brand, released in April 2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Star, a design team based in Munich, Germany, has unveiled the MG iSmart Infotainment System HMI, a user-focused design that strengthens emotional connections with the MG brand. The HMI was released on time, and new vehicles were presented at the Shanghai Autoshow in April 2019.
The design process involved hosting creative and research sessions with the SAIC team and MG customers to gather data points and understand their needs. The HMI embraces new technology trends centered around connectivity, digital touchpoints, and smart assistants with an intuitive interface.
Star's approach ensured that the UX flows were finalized and validated mid-project, allowing the UI kit to be ready for engineers to implement and develop. The new MG cars equipped with the new HMI solution are now on the road in India and Thailand.
The design team members included Mikhail Rakityaskiy, Head of Design; Vladimir Gnatovych, UX Design Lead; Nikolay Apostol, User Experience Designer; Valery Loboda, Senior UX Designer; Vitaliy Davidenko, UX Designer from Star team, and Ying Bai, UI Designer; Zhao Hua Fang, UI Designer; Shengjie Huang, Senior Product Manager from the SAIC team.
Star's MG iSmart Infotainment System HMI design was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in 2021 for its outstanding and trendsetting creation that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom, significantly impacting the world with its desirable characteristics.
