Desdorp introduces Desibot, an autonomous indoor robot equipped with intelligent ultraviolet light disinfection function, designed to prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria, including SARS-CoV-2, without the use of chemicals.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Desdorp, an industrial product design studio based in Vilnius, Lithuania, has unveiled Desibot, an innovative solution designed to address the need for efficient and safe disinfection of public spaces amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic. The idea for the automated disinfection robot was born out of the necessity to disinfect various public spaces without the use of chemicals, in response to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Desibot is a modern autonomous indoor robot equipped with intelligent ultraviolet light disinfection function, designed to provide a sterile environment in hospitals and clinics without putting workers and clients at unnecessary risk. The robot utilizes UV-C light to destroy up to 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi, and other microorganisms, including known pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2. It operates autonomously, using LIDAR space scanning and mapping technology for navigation and autonomous movement.
The main casing of the robot is manufactured using 3D printing technology, allowing for local production in small quantities according to demand. This approach also enables personalization according to the clientâs branding or the environment where it will be used. Desibot takes approximately 10-15 minutes to disinfect one operating room without the need for exposure maintenance or premises ventilation, and does not require the use of any chemicals.
