Beijing Jiaotong University introduces YIHE DIM SUM, a Beijing-style pastry brand, featuring packaging inspired by the Summer Palace, set to launch in 2024.

YIHE DIM SUM Packaging Design Showcases Summer Palace's Cultural Heritage
Beijing Jiaotong University's design team has unveiled the YIHE DIM SUM packaging, drawing inspiration from the Summer Palace's cultural heritage. The packaging features four iconic sites of the palace, blending traditional Chinese architecture with a pop art style, creating a visually impactful impression.
The outer packaging box adopts UV technology and contains four small boxes, ensuring durability and aesthetics. The product is available for purchase at the Summer Palace's offline gift shop, official website, and within the park, serving as a souvenir for visitors.
The project, which started in March 2023 and completed in December 2023, was listed in the Summer Palace Scenic Area in Beijing in January 2024. The design team overcame the challenge of combining traditional architecture with modern style, aiming to enhance the connection between traditional court pastries and young consumers.
