An Interactive Installation by Haley Tebo at University Art Building
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Haley Tebo's "Changing Perspectives" is an innovative environmental typography installation, inspired by the concept of perspective and designed to engage viewers as they interact with the piece. The installation, located on the university art building, utilizes the dimensions of the building and the surrounding space to create a dynamic visual experience.
The installation features Helvetica Condensed typography, strategically positioned to form a message that can be read from either direction, compelling viewers to move and align themselves with the piece. The use of lighting creates shadows and reflections that further enhance the visual impact of the typography.
The design process involved the use of Adobe software to create slides that were then projected onto the building. Each letter of the design is approximately 1-2 feet tall, varying with distance from the viewer. The installation process presented technical challenges, including the precise alignment of the typography and the logistical aspects of projection and cutting.
This project, which began in late April 2019 and was installed over a two-week period in May 2019, received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to the field of environmental typography and interaction design.
Haley Tebo, a passionate graphic designer with a dedication to storytelling and problem-solving, has demonstrated her commitment to creating innovative designs that not only captivate audiences but also contribute to the enhancement of the environment. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for art, science, and technology, and her continuous pursuit of excellence sets her apart as a visionary in the field of design.
