Residential Sample House "Cohesion" by Andersen Chiu

Andersen Chiu's "Cohesion" project is a remarkable residential sample house that embodies sustainability and visual expansion. The design inspiration stemmed from a careful consideration of the sample home's purpose, leading to the use of clear glass for exhibition and visual expansion, along with reusable timber to manifest a beautiful vision and environmental concern.

The unique properties of "Cohesion" lie in its exquisite timber and veneer finishing, fair-faced concrete elements, and a Wabi-Sabi dwelling motif created by strip lights and hardware embellishments. The design coherence is skillfully achieved through the use of wood veneer to decorate the beam, enhancing both space and aesthetics.

Realized through the application of fair-faced concrete, clear glass, and unconventional elements, "Cohesion" stands out with its technical specifications of 42.97 sqm, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful utilization of space.

Andersen Chiu's "Cohesion" project was completed in January 2022 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, after starting in November 2021. The design's research and realization reflect a deep understanding of materials and space, resulting in a truly exceptional residential sample house.

Andersen Chiu, an interior designer from New Taipei City, Taiwan, has been recognized for his outstanding work, as "Cohesion" was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2024 for its exceptional creativity, technical characteristics, and remarkable level of excellence.
