Introducing Tamausagi, a bottled Japanese tea brewed with "Uji Gyokuro," a tea produced using Kyoto's traditional Uji tea manufacturing technique, designed by Hisamichi Kasai and awarded Silver in A' Packaging Design Award in 2024.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hisamichi Kasai, in collaboration with a team of talented individuals, has created Tamausagi, a bottled Japanese tea that aims to elevate the value of Uji tea and promote its production. The design of the bottle is inspired by Japan's aesthetic of simplicity, known as wabi-sabi, and incorporates traditional Japanese patterns, reminiscent of Uji tea's long history.
The bottle is adorned with special gold designs, evoking the prestige and exclusive luxury of Kyoto. The black bottle, with a rough texture and subdued gleam, not only protects the tea's quality but also features a circular window to showcase the rabbit symbol. This symbol represents the guardian god of Uji and the moonlit night with thin clouds, signifying the Gyokuro tea's cultivation method of shading the leaves from the sun.
With a diameter of 52mm and a height of 196mm, the bottle exudes elegance and uniqueness, making it perfect for special occasions or as a thoughtful gift. Tamausagi was launched in Kyoto, Japan, in September 2020, and has since been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2024.
Hisamichi Kasai, the mastermind behind Tamausagi, is a renowned designer based in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto-shi, Japan. With a passion for creating designs that reflect the identity of his clients, Kasai's work spans various domains, including CI, VI, packaging, web, architectural signage, and sales promotion tools. His dedication to drawing out the essential charm of his clients is evident in the exquisite design of Tamausagi.
