FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wei Sun, along with a team of talented individuals, has developed VR Mentor, a groundbreaking dental teaching and training system based on Virtual Reality. This innovative system addresses the shortcomings of traditional dental education models by offering more realistic, efficient, and immersive virtual teaching and training experiences.
The VR Mentor system, developed primarily through Unity3D, features two innovative teaching modes - "Hands on" and "Shared haptic" - providing students with immersive stereoscopic operation experience and practical opportunities. The system's hardware measures 400 mm x 400 mm x 1400 mm, positioned ergonomically, while the software is a UWP application.
By leveraging VR vision, stereophonic audition, and force feedback, VR Mentor guides students through standardized visualized path tracks, enhancing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. This system not only overcomes the limitations of physical time and space but also reduces the difficulties in coordinating and managing training organizations, streamlining teaching costs.
Wei Sun, a master's degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, has demonstrated exceptional expertise in virtual reality, human-computer interaction, and industrial design. His multidisciplinary approach and innovative technologies have led to the creation of VR Mentor, revolutionizing dental education.
