FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mono Pizza, a pizzeria in the UK, has unveiled a new brand identity inspired by the enigmatic smile of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Designed by Irina Kolosovska, the brand identity captures the essence of the iconic painting using the monoline art technique, elevating the pizza-making process to the level of high art.
The name "Monopizza" cleverly combines "Mona Lisa" and "pizza," reflecting the concept of blending art and cuisine. The company's logo merges the image of the Mona Lisa with a representation of pizza, symbolizing the fusion of art and culinary craftsmanship.
The logo was meticulously crafted using Adobe Illustrator CC 2022 and Adobe Photoshop CC 2022, employing the monoline technique and regular graphic shapes to achieve a minimalist yet impactful design. The artwork utilizes only three colors to create contrast and a harmonious visual impression, enhancing the viewer's focus on the main content.
The project, initiated in April 2022, continues to evolve, with a focus on user needs, preferences, and pain points to inform the design of the product. The study employed surveys, interviews, and usability tests to gather and analyze data from a diverse group of participants, ensuring that the design meets practical needs while being visually compelling.
Despite creative, technical, and research challenges, the Mono Pizza brand identity has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design in 2023. This accolade acknowledges the project's outstanding and creatively ingenious design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to make the world a better place.
