History Addict, created by product designer Xi Pang, has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid and Training Content Design category for 2025. The app addresses the common challenges of memorizing historical facts and overcoming tedious study materials by integrating gamification, AI-driven recommendations, and interactive learning tools. This recognition celebrates History Addict's contribution to making history education more engaging and effective for users of all ages.

The app stands out by using data analytics and machine learning algorithms to curate personalized course recommendations based on trending topics and individual user behavior. By transforming historian-endorsed tools such as family trees and flashcards into interactive quizzes and puzzles, History Addict ensures that users can reinforce their knowledge while enjoying a game-like experience. The intuitive interface allows users to interact with content through familiar gestures, making learning both fun and accessible.

History Addict was developed through a rigorous, human-centered design process spanning multiple countries and years. Initial research and prototyping began in Shanghai in 2019, with subsequent visual and functional enhancements made in Edinburgh and California through 2024. The project incorporated feedback from over 50 history learners, ensuring the app meets diverse educational needs. By making history learning more entertaining and approachable, History Addict aims to inspire a broader appreciation for history and lifelong learning.
