Drawor Unveils Award-Winning Unmanned Construction Layout System for Enhanced Precision and Efficiency

CHINA -- /COMMUNICATION/newswire -- Oct 13, 2024

Beijing-based designer Huaibo Zhu and team introduce Drawor, an intelligent construction layout system that integrates drones, robots, and total stations to automate and revolutionize building site layout, addressing the construction industry's demand for higher accuracy, efficiency, and safety. The system, developed at BIT campus from March 2024 to February 2025, has earned the prestigious Iron A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award for 2025.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Drawor Construction Layout System Sets New Standard for Automated Building Site Operations

The Drawor Construction Layout System, developed by Huaibo Zhu and his team, represents a significant leap forward in the automation of construction site layout. By combining a drone, a layout robot, and a total station into a single, intelligent solution, Drawor eliminates the inefficiencies and inaccuracies of traditional manual layout methods. The system is designed to meet the growing demands of modern construction projects, where precision, speed, and safety are paramount.

At the core of Drawor's innovation is its dynamic dual-track parallel technology, which enables seamless digital collaboration between the drone, robot, and total station. The drone autonomously delivers the layout robot and total station to the designated site, where the robot deploys the equipment and initiates the layout process. Utilizing a drone-mounted prism, the system overcomes visibility challenges caused by obstacles, ensuring millimeter-level positioning accuracy even in complex environments. This approach drastically reduces manual intervention, improves efficiency, and minimizes human error.

Drawor integrates advanced technologies such as dual-track dynamic measurement, electric permanent magnet suction cups, laser SLAM navigation, and 5G real-time control. The use of lightweight carbon fiber for drones and aerospace-grade aluminum alloy for robots further enhances the system's performance and adaptability. Rigorous research, experimentation, and field testing have validated Drawor's ability to deliver reliable, high-precision results, making it a game-changer for the construction industry. The system's excellence was recognized with the Iron A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award in 2025, underscoring its impact on advancing digital and unmanned construction practices.
