Creplus Design has been recognized with the Golden A' Design Award 2025 for its exceptional branding work for the Hyzy World Youth Activity Center, located in Shanghai. As the largest youth activity center in China, spanning approximately 100,000 square meters, the center required a visual identity that was both contemporary and deeply meaningful. The new logo and mascot system, unveiled in May 2024, reflect a thoughtful approach that balances architectural inspiration, educational values, and innovative design.
The design process began after a three-month logo competition failed to meet the client's expectations. Creplus Design was then engaged, dedicating over two months to research and concept development. Drawing inspiration from the center's iconic arch and circular architectural motifs, the team created a three-dimensional logo that symbolizes wholeness, openness, and a "Gateway to the Future." The logo's most distinctive feature is a hidden heart shape, visible from a top-down perspective and echoed in its shadow under specific lighting, embodying the center's philosophy of "nurturing with love."
In addition to the logo, Creplus Design introduced two whale-themed mascots inspired by the center's Whale Theater. These mascots, representing a boy and a girl, incorporate playful elements and the signature arch motif, further reinforcing the brand's identity. When viewed from above, the mascots together form the image of two whales, adding a layer of creativity and delight for young visitors. The branding system is versatile, designed for both graphic and three-dimensional applications, ensuring a cohesive and memorable experience throughout the center.
The Hyzy World Youth Activity Center's new identity has been met with high praise from the client and the broader design community. By seamlessly integrating architectural features, educational values, and engaging visual storytelling, Creplus Design has set a new standard for youth-focused branding in China and beyond.
