FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"Hues of the Future," photographed by Sara Gaafar, has been awarded the Bronze A' Photography and Photo Manipulation Design Award 2025, recognizing its exceptional creative and technical achievement. The project was unveiled during Cairo Design Week's second edition at Ghernata Palace, Cairo, from February 23 to March 2, 2024. Commissioned by GLC Paints, the exhibition brought together six Egyptian designers to envision the home of the next century, blending nostalgia, nature, and community through four distinct pavilions: Brutifully Forward, Ha-beit'a, Reserva 77, and Casino Central.
Gaafar's photographic approach was inspired by the interplay of history and futurism, focusing on how each pavilion redefined the concept of home while embracing openness and human-centered design. Utilizing advanced techniques such as tilt-shift lenses for architectural precision, meticulous lighting control, and sophisticated post-production, Gaafar authentically captured the textures, colors, and immersive experiences crafted by the designers. The images highlight the thoughtful use of wood, gypsum board, and GLC Paints' curated color palette, emphasizing the emotional and spatial narrative of each installation.
The project's dynamic layout encouraged visitor interaction, with open pathways and reflective surfaces inviting exploration and engagement. Gaafar's research-driven process ensured that the visual storytelling conveyed both the futuristic aspirations and the nostalgic undertones of the exhibition. Overcoming technical challenges such as complex lighting conditions and the need to preserve architectural integrity, Gaafar delivered a compelling visual narrative that resonated with both the public and the award jury. "Hues of the Future" stands as a testament to the power of architectural photography to bridge design innovation and human experience, making a meaningful contribution to the discourse on future living spaces.
