FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mahsa Mohammadzadeh's "1001 Nights" nut packaging has captured the Iron A' Packaging Design Award 2025, standing out for its unique fusion of Persian storytelling, artistic illustration, and environmental responsibility. Drawing inspiration from the rich tradition of Iranian literature and the timeless tales of One Thousand and One Nights, the packaging transforms a simple nut container into a cultural artifact. The design process began in October 2023 with in-depth research into the stories, followed by months of illustration and refinement, culminating in a product that hit store shelves in September 2025.
The cylindrical packaging is crafted from recycled cardboard, featuring a food-grade inner lining to ensure product safety and freshness. Its exterior is adorned with a blend of hand-drawn and digital illustrations, offset printed on glossy paper with matte lamination, and accented by selective gold and silver foiling. The lid, embossed with the brand logo, serves a dual purpose: it functions as both a bowl for serving nuts and a collector for shells, enhancing both practicality and user experience. The design's ergonomic features and seamless opening mechanism reflect a thoughtful approach to everyday use.
Overcoming significant production challenges, including sourcing sustainable materials and achieving high-quality offset printing on cylindrical forms, the project showcases meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to both cultural preservation and environmental stewardship. The packaging not only elevates the act of sharing nuts into a joyful, story-filled experience but also encourages reuse, reducing waste and reinforcing the brand's values. By integrating the iconic Scheherazade with the Dastan parrot logo, the design creates a memorable visual narrative that connects consumers with Iran's storytelling heritage.
