FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

"Children On The Move" Publication Sets New Standard for Migration Data Visualization and Policy Support

"Children On The Move," designed by Jiayan He for IDAC, is a groundbreaking publication that visually and conceptually defines the experiences of children affected by migration, displacement, and crisis. Developed between May 2023 and August 2024 in New York and showcased at major UN venues and the IDAC Annual Conference in Morocco, the publication addresses the critical lack of reliable data and standardized definitions for children on the move. Through vibrant isometric illustrations and clear infographics, the work makes complex issues accessible to a broad audience, emphasizing the urgency of global collaboration and evidence-based policy.

The publication stands out for its innovative use of color-coded categories and detailed visual storytelling, which clarify key migration terms and highlight the diversity and vulnerability of children on the move. Each illustration and data set is meticulously crafted using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, ensuring both clarity and depth. The reference document not only defines and discusses the latest global data for various subgroups, but also identifies significant data gaps, urging stakeholders to improve data collection and usage for better protection and support of these children.

"Children On The Move" is open to IDAC organizations and stakeholders, fostering collaboration to enhance data accuracy and policy effectiveness. The project's inclusive approach, which brings together definitions from legal, statistical, and conceptual perspectives, has earned widespread praise and recognition. Its Bronze A' Design Award in 2025 underscores its contribution to quality of life improvements and its role in making the world a better place for vulnerable children affected by migration and displacement.
