VOOC Design's Carbon Craft eyewear, created by Duc Nguyen Vu and his team, has been recognized with the Iron A' Eyewear Design Award 2025, a testament to its outstanding blend of practicality, innovation, and user-focused design. Developed in Ho Chi Minh City after inspiration from a visit to Sabae, Japan, Carbon Craft addresses the everyday needs of active individuals by offering eyewear that is both exceptionally durable and easy to maintain. The design eliminates traditional screws, hinges, and metal frames, instead utilizing advanced carbon fiber and nylon composites shaped through 3D FDM printing technology.

Carbon Craft stands out for its classic aesthetic and modular construction, allowing users to easily assemble and replace parts without specialized tools. The frame, weighing just 29 grams, is crafted from a carbon-infused nylon material that rivals metal in strength while remaining lightweight. The innovative use of TPU for the hinge component absorbs shocks and impacts, ensuring resilience during daily activities such as cycling, working, or spending time with family. This approach not only enhances durability but also reduces production costs, CO2 emissions, and water pollution, supporting a more sustainable manufacturing process.

The eyewear's design is rooted in extensive research into conventional frames, which often rely on metal rods and screws that are prone to deformation and difficult for users to repair. By leveraging 3D printing and carbon technology, VOOC Design has created a product that is both reliable and accessible, with a straightforward replacement process for worn parts.
