Liv Dach Rlp Logo Design Recognized for Timeless Simplicity and Industry Innovation

The Liv Dach Rlp logo, designed by Nikolai Janz, has received the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication category for 2025. Developed for the Guild Association of Roofing Crafts in Rhineland Palatinate, Germany, the logo was conceived to be both timeless and highly functional. Janz's approach intentionally diverged from the industry standard of using roof shapes, which dominate over 90% of similar logos, resulting in a distinctive and memorable visual identity.

The design process began in September 2023 and concluded in January 2024, involving close collaboration with the association's representatives. Through interviews and a thorough analysis of existing guild and company logos, Janz identified the need for a fresh, modern approach that would resonate with both members and the broader public. The final logo, crafted using simple shapes in Adobe Illustrator, is scalable and effective across all media-from digital favicons to large billboards-ensuring consistent communication and brand recognition.

One of the main challenges was to create a symbol that would be accepted by association members while standing apart from conventional industry imagery. Janz's minimalist design not only met this challenge but also improved engagement and unity within the association by providing a clear, adaptable, and easily recognizable brand mark. The award recognizes the logo's creative ingenuity, technical excellence, and its contribution to elevating the visual standards of the roofing craft industry.
