"Hong Lou Meng Dream Ten" Baijiu Packaging Celebrates Chinese Culture with Award-Winning Design

Chuan Zhang, a renowned designer based in Chengdu, has been recognized with the Iron A' Packaging Design Award 2025 for his latest creation, "Hong Lou Meng Dream Ten." This luxury baijiu packaging draws deeply from the revered Chinese literary masterpiece Dream of the Red Chamber, combining cultural symbolism with contemporary design to create a product that stands out in the high-end spirits market. The award acknowledges the design's ability to merge aesthetic beauty, cultural resonance, and functional excellence.

The bottle's silhouette is inspired by the iconic roofline of the Grand View Garden, a central setting in the novel, with rhythmic lines that evoke the elegance of traditional Chinese architecture. Artistic plantain leaf patterns, reminiscent of layered skirts, add a sense of grace and vitality to the bottle. The use of cloisonne enamel craftsmanship and premium ceramic materials not only highlights the exquisite skills of traditional Chinese artisans but also imparts a sense of nobility and luxury, making the packaging visually striking and culturally significant.

Designed with user experience in mind, the bottle features ergonomic shaping for comfortable handling and easy opening, while clear labeling ensures accessibility of product information. The packaging's smart design also enhances protection and usability. Initiated in Chengdu in March 2024 and launched in China in September 2024, the project responds to a growing demand in the high-end baijiu market for packaging that delivers both quality and cultural depth. Chuan Zhang's innovative approach successfully bridges the gap between heritage and modernity, offering consumers a luxurious and emotionally resonant product experience.
