FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The acclaimed stage design for Wakin Chau's world tour, produced by B'IN LIVE CO., LTD., has earned the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Event and Happening Design category for 2025. Debuting at the Taipei Arena in 2024, the design masterfully blends the evocative spirit of Jin Yong's wuxia literature with state-of-the-art concert technology. The dual-stage format-symbolizing reflection and rebirth-immerses fans in a journey from classical Chinese aesthetics to contemporary energy, mirroring Chau's own musical evolution.
Key to the design's uniqueness are its dynamic mechanical transformations and innovative use of materials. In the first half, themed "Ballad of the Swordsman," six massive, fire-resistant curtains evoke misty mountains, serving as canvases for ink-wash projections that transport audiences into a poetic wuxia world. These curtains, each weighing 100 kilograms and stretching over 13 meters high, are swiftly retracted by powerful mechanical systems to reveal the modern stage beneath. The second half, themed "Youth," introduces vibrant LED screens and advanced lighting, seamlessly shifting the atmosphere to a contemporary concert experience while maintaining emotional resonance.
The technical execution required meticulous coordination between lighting, projections, and stage mechanics, overcoming challenges such as precise curtain operation and adapting visuals to different venues. The result is a visually stunning and emotionally charged performance, praised by audiences and critics alike for its artistry, innovation, and ability to bridge generations. The sold-out shows and enthusiastic fan response underscore the design's impact, establishing a new benchmark for live event production in the region.
