Istanbul-based designer Peyman Hashemi, alongside co-designer Kayhan Turan, has been honored with a Bronze A' Packaging Design Award for Humv, a next-generation engine oil container inspired by the rugged durability of the Humvee. Developed between March 2023 and February 2024, Humv redefines industrial packaging with its sustainable materials, ergonomic design, and military-grade resilience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Humv engine oil container, designed by Peyman Hashemi and Kayhan Turan in Istanbul, stands out for its bold, angular form and tactical ergonomics, drawing direct inspiration from the iconic Humvee military vehicle. Engineered for demanding environments, Humv's reinforced geometric shell and armored grip system deliver exceptional impact resistance and handling, even in harsh industrial settings. The design eliminates traditional adhesive labels in favor of embossed branding, enhancing recyclability and product longevity.
Produced using advanced blow molding technology, Humv utilizes 90 percent recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), reducing waste while maintaining mechanical integrity. The container is 20 percent lighter than conventional alternatives, thanks to extensive finite element analysis that optimized both strength and material usage. Available in 1, 5, and 20-liter capacities, the 5-liter variant measures 237.95 mm wide, 98.63 mm deep, and 291.61 mm high, and has passed rigorous drop and load tests, withstanding a 2.2-meter fall and supporting over 131 kilograms at elevated temperatures.
Humv's design process prioritized sustainability, ergonomics, and industrial performance. The stackable, space-efficient form, combined with precision pouring and slip-resistant grip zones, ensures safe and efficient operation for professionals. The elimination of adhesive labels reduced waste by 20 percent, while ergonomic refinements improved grip performance by 30 percent and impact resistance by 15 percent. These innovations contributed to Humv being recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, celebrating its creative ingenuity and positive impact on quality of life.
