"Collection 10 Years of Shede": Fusing Ancient Chinese Craft with Modern Sustainable Packaging

Wei Li's "Collection 10 Years of Shede" has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Packaging Design Award 2025, standing out for its masterful blend of oriental wisdom, cultural symbolism, and modern sustainability. Developed in Shenzhen, China, from March to June 2023, the design draws inspiration from the essence of Chinese civilization, integrating the philosophies of Yin and Yang and the aesthetics of oriental life into every detail of the packaging. The project was exhibited in China in August 2023, offering a new choice for discerning Baijiu enthusiasts.

The packaging uniquely incorporates elements of China's Four Great Inventions-movable type printing and papermaking-by featuring uneven movable type motifs and textured paper surfaces. These design choices not only evoke the rich history of Chinese characters and craftsmanship but also symbolize the passage of a decade's preservation and the dedication of intangible cultural heritage artisans. The bottle itself is adorned with carved rock patterns, representing harmony, unity, and the balance of give and take central to Chinese philosophy.

Environmental responsibility is at the core of the design, with the outer packaging crafted from 100% recyclable, naturally degradable materials that are non-toxic when burned, reflecting a commitment to low-carbon living. The minimalist approach, guided by the "less is more" principle, results in a pure, elegant presentation that honors both the heritage of Shede and the future of sustainable luxury. The "Collection 10 Years of Shede" not only elevates the experience of high-end Baijiu but also advances the mission of spreading the beauty of Chinese Baijiu culture worldwide.
