The "Support Local Music" poster is a self-initiated project by Hsiao-Wen Hu, a creative professional and live music enthusiast based in Queens, New York. The design integrates elements of classical instruments with the type, creating a playful musical scene using geometric shapes, colors, and textures. This unique approach reflects the designer's personal connection to the music industry and serves as a rallying call to uplift spirits and support local communities.
Recognized for its outstanding creativity and innovation, the "Support Local Music" poster has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This accolade highlights the poster's exceptional technical characteristics, remarkable artistic skill, and its ability to evoke positive emotions, amazement, and wonder.
Hsiao-Wen Hu's "Support Local Music" poster comes in two dimensions: 297 mm x 210 mm and 1308 mm x 736 mm. The project, which commenced in January 2021 and was completed within a month, was intended to be printed using linocut printing and distributed in neighborhoods across New York City.
